Guide to CoSTAR Access Support Bursaries
Committed to equity, diversity, inclusion, and reducing barriers to access.
At CoSTAR our goal is to ensure that applying and participating in our programmes is easy and accessible for all.
Access Support Bursaries are available, based on a disability, health condition, or access need, to support those making applications to, or participating in, our Industry Access Programmes.
Industry Access Programmes include both Enterprise and Commercialisation Programmes (such as CoSTAR Ideate, Originate and Evolve) as well as any Prototypes and Pilots Programme.
The term disability includes specific learning differences (e.g. dyslexia), neurodivergence (e.g. autism, ADHD), mental health conditions, physical or sensory impairments, and long-term medical conditions, as defined by the Equality Act 2010.
There are two pathways to apply for an Access Support Bursary:
Applicant Support
If you need support in completing an application to participate in one of the CoSTAR Industry Access Programmes, you may apply for an Applicant Support Bursary.
Participant Support
If you need support in participating in one of the CoSTAR Industry Access Programmes, you may apply for a Participant Support Bursary.
Eligible Costs
Eligible costs include access to resources, assistive technology, support services, or assistance related to a disability, health condition, or access needs.
Please note:
Supplementary income or general expenses/purchases are ineligible.
Depending on your support needs we may ask you to break down your costs, provide supplier details or possibly include quotes. (Unfortunately, we cannot make individual arrangements such as sourcing suppliers of assistance).
We will pay the agreed Bursary amount as soon as possible once your Bursary has been approved. We will be unable to pay further additional costs once the agreed amount has been approved.
We will endeavor to expedite payment; however, please note payment usually takes approximately 2 weeks from confirmation of the awarded bursary.
