CoSTAR Realtime Lab film showcases pioneering VP and VFX technology

Follow a biker's journey from the Scottish Highlands to Dundee's Water's Edge shown through the latest virtual production and VFX techniques from the CoSTAR Realtime Lab.
This captivating film showcases the potential of Virtual Production and VFX and was created and produced under the direction of Scott Davidson with creative producer Dr Andrea McSwan.
The film follows a biker, Jonny, as he journeys across the Scottish Highlands and Dundee, carrying an important message about the CoSTAR Realtime Lab. Seamlessly blending aerial cinematography with studio-generated visuals, the production showcases the lab’s cutting-edge virtual production capabilities. It also incorporates game design from 4J Studios' latest creation, Reforj and 3D animation demonstrating how the facility can merge technology and storytelling in innovative new ways.
The film’s finale brings Jonny to the CoSTAR Realtime Lab studio, where he delivers the message that the lab is officially open. This cinematic moment was brought to life at the CoSTAR Realtime Lab launch on Tuesday 18 February, when Jonny arrived in person - bike and envelope in hand - to present the message to Professor Gregor White onstage.
