John has worked within the BFI's Research and Statistics Unit since 2019, where he co-authored the annual Statistical Yearbooks, which aim to be "the comprehensive resource for statistics and commentary on the UK screen industries", alongside quarterly Official Statistics releases covering film and TV production, and box office performance. For the CoSTAR Foresight Lab, John is supporting the lab's Insight work as Data Manager, including reporting on the findings derived from the Creative Business Panel, a novel longitudinal survey looking at, amongst other things, the attitudes and behaviours of UK creative businesses around innovation and sustainability.
